SUNDAY SCHOOL

AGE 3 THROUGH GRADE 5

When each child is baptized we promise to faithfully bring them into God's house, teach them the Lord's Prayer, the Creed, the Ten Commandments and provide in their instruction in the Christian faith.

We want to welcome you to a new year of Sunday School! This year we will be meeting in person on Sundays at 9 am.

Is this your first-time hearing about Sunday School?  Do you have friends or family members who might be interested in Sunday School?  All are welcome to join us!  Here, all children of God can make friends and learn about God’s love for them!

Our Sunday school classes are designed for children 3 years old through 5th grade.  Our 3 year old program is for children turning 3 by December 1st and our 4 year old program is for children turning 4 by December 1st.  Grades K - 5 will coincide with your child’s public or private grade in school this fall.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact our Director Aubrey Minton at aubrey.minton@gmail.com.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

In First Holy Communion, we receive the gifts of bread and wine, of Christ’s body and blood, in faith, trusting that in this meal our Lord comes to us, forgives us our sins, renews us in faith and leads us into new life.

Regular worship and attendance at Sunday school each week is an integral part of preparation for this wonderful and most important step in a child’s life. The Sacrament of First Holy Communion takes place in the Spring. There are three first Holy Communion Classes followed by a rehearsal in preparation for the ceremony.

It is important that our growing in Christ be one in which we work together as a family to help prepare not only for First Communion, but for Confirmation in the future.

The dress code for the First Communion ceremony is Sunday best.  It is not necessary to wear special dresses or suits, but jeans and sneakers should be avoided.

CONFIRMATION SCHOOL

GRADES 6 - 8

Confirmation is a public profession of faith prepared for by long and careful instruction. It is also referred to as "Affirmation of Baptism", and is a reaffirmation of faith. The Rite of Confirmation Ceremony takes place for eighth grade students in November.

Confirmation students are expected to complete Worship Summaries. Families are encouraged to come to worship or watch the live stream service here on our YouTube channel. The worship schedule can be found on this page. Parents will receive a weekly email reminder. Each student is required to complete 2 worship summaries a month. We also ask that you bring your child/children for Holy Communion at least once a month.
